i am going to a surprise birthday party, on asunday, and its in quite a trendy modern bar called jamies in london, and i wanted something feminine, and pretty, yet not too over dressed as its in the daytime.
i have found this dress on ebay, would it look ok, i would be wearing it with black 50s peep toe shoes with bow detail and a silk black neck scarf, what do you reckon.

any other ideas on what i could wear?
Would this look ok? ladies clothing question?
I think its really pretty and appropriate for a 70th, you%26#039;ll look very classy - Have fun!
Reply:it looks great
Reply:Black and white never dates, always seems to be in fashion and is timeless. It looks good at any time of year too. Go for it- sounds just right.
Reply:yeah the dress is lovely and the shoes sound nice but i wouldnt bother with the scarf
Reply:In my opinion an excellent choice. Classy and elegant. Lovely.
Reply:A sheath dress would look great with the shoes. A pastel or fuschia, not overwhelming, more conservative with this group.
Reply:I think the dress is very cute!
Reply:Yes I think that will be very fetching, you%26#039;ll look a treat, I%26#039;m an older person and we%26#039;re not all fuddy-duddies, enjoy the party.
Reply:I%26#039;ve called the Fashion Police. They are on their way now.
Reply:That dress is appropriate... though I wouldn%26#039;t wear a scarf with it... try not to over accessorise it since the dress has a pattern, you know what I mean? You want the attention in only one place, and since this dress is super cute (love the price too!) and it has a nice pattern wearing either a scarf, big earrings or something on your hair would be over doing it. Stick to the dress, the peeps, a simple necklace and small earrings, if you are going to do sth to your hair, keep it simple! A lil mascara, lip gloss and some blush will go a long way!!! Good Luck!
Reply:I know Jamies and I think that you would look really good
Reply:It%26#039;s nice. xxx
Reply:I think you will look lovely. You dont want something too short, this isnt a night occasion,so i think you%26#039;ve chosen something spot on. Thought about how to have you hair yet? Maybe a french roll with some loose strands if its long enough?
Reply:I%26#039;ll agree with my namesake above.
It%26#039;s a classy look if your lucky enough to have the figure for it.
Possibly drop the scarf, might look too old
Enjoy
Reply:Very classy, nice and feminine, no need for the scarf tho, but I like the idea of the shoes, not too sure of the bow detail on it tho. Keep the jewellery to a minimum or your outfit may end up looking too loud. Also I%26#039;m assuming you are slim too because it would make bulges look bigger. The dress would suit the occasion very well.
It may not be of my taste, I%26#039;m a heavy metal chick, but the dress is appropriate and not over the top.
Reply:looks really pretty...the dress has alot of detail so i think the scarf is not needed maybe try a silver necklace with a small %26#039;diamond%26#039; pendant, great choice and appropriate for the oldies you%26#039;ll look great.
Reply:I like it, you should take a little black clutch bag as well. Keep jewellery to a minimum
Reply:i think its nice - buy it before i do!
Reply:add some red details, maybe your shoes and a bag?
Oh, and some red plastic hoop earings!
Reply:It%26#039;s a wrap dress which is great because it looks good day to evening and hides a multitude of sins! Wear a good bra underneath it because wrap dresses do show off your curves. Tan your legs and don%26#039;t wear tights. If you can%26#039;t tan them then buy one of those spray on legs stuff in the can - they%26#039;re great. The silk scarf might make you a little %26quot;Grease the musical%26quot; but try it on and see how you feel.
Reply:hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
I am ahmad from syria if uoy like o get my friend send to me e_mail ax_lightning@yahoo.com
Reply:It%26#039;s a lovely dress. Don%26#039;t bother with the scarf, wear a pretty black necklace instead!
Reply:Depends on how old you are. I would say that its drab and you would get sick of the print after a while. Plain is always better. the stitching on this is very obvious...not very well made but then at that price you cant really grumble can you? I would say a plain dress in the colour that suits you most with matching shoes. Leave your neck clutter free or else put a thin chain or a fine beaded necklace that matches the dress. If you have to carry a bag don%26#039;t use a big clumpy one and make it match your shoes if you possibly can. Clothes are not a matter of money its a matter of how you put them together and if they make you look stunning. anyway have fun.
Reply:ooooo i like it....to be honest iw ouldn%26#039;t go with the neck scarf though because youve already got a scarf like detail on the dress... so it will just be too much, how about going with a big necklace type thing. Try looking in New look, River Island, Topshop and Muse... they will do a big necklaces... it just adds a touch of something different without a major pricetag.
Reply:Absolutely spot on with the dress and the shoes but i think you should leave the black scarf out as it will bring the outfit down.
Try a brighter bag or something very sparkly for a bit of fun.
Red or Teal are the colours to wear with monotone this season - do not wear any plastic though, that will make the outfit look cheap.
My friend just bought a copy of a Liberty metallic clutch bag in Superdrug for three pounds that would ge really well!
have a great time.
Reply:No its perfect, simple yet classy. Its very Diane Von Furstenberg. Although her clothes are very expensive, look up her designs and catwalk pictures for inspiration of what to buy on the high street to accessorise it.
Reply:The dress is stunning chick, and will, well suit your party with the older ones, and all the extras you will be wearing will set it off chick.
have a good time
Reply:The dress is so, so. My advice is that the fact that it is a pensioner b-day doesn%26#039;t mean that you should worry too much about the outfit..and buy something you are not sure about and might even never wear it again. Just try to look classy, (like black dress)but to feel glamorous and sexy add some interesting details like big red belt or scarf or pin..Good luck
Reply:cute!
but i%26#039;m not sure about this neck scarf, there%26#039;s already a ribbon or somethin as i can see, so maybe you should wear a small nacklace, it would look better, i reckon.
Reply:No its not attractive.I know u want to look appropraite for the oldies but hey you wear what you wanna wear. Its the season to wear bright colours. You can wear a dress but maybe a strapless dress that has the netting underneath.Like a bell and it has a band at the waist.( can u picture it)They have lovely colours in that style ,sits on the knee and you can still wear you shoes.Try it.
Reply:I like the dress but to make it more fun i would wear it with black stilettos and fun, chunky jewelry
and I wouldn%26#039;t wear a scarf...
But then again, if you want to fit in with the old folks, maybe
