Walking out of my local apothocary last week, I was stopped by a very perky and alert group of smiling faces, among them lady of her 20s in a white collar shirt, A long black skirt, sensible dress shoes, a gold crucifix about her neck. Your god is a peaceful god, a loving and nurturing god, But he is also a vengeful god. Thou Shalt not Kill, Its on your list of Do%26#039;s and Dont%26#039;s. But if I dont share your beliefs, I should be smited.





The Church of England (A Subdivision of The Church of Christ) at one point decided To end the life of anyone who would not convert to their way of thinking. Thousands were converted or killed.. Worshippers of the Earth Fire Wind and Water were Stoned, Burnt, Hung by the neck or drowned. Pagans, Wiccans, Druids, Shamen and the unafilliated were forced to comply or face certain death.

But there have always been gods before the god of Christianity. Since man first saw the sun weve worshipped and revered it..





My gods have been around for thousands of years, amd they never asked me to Kill a homosexual, burn down a village or convince a stanger they will suffer in fire for eternity if they dont accept the spirit of odin into their lives, and Beg for Forgiveness for something that my god created us with! Christ.





Where do you find happiness in speaking to me like youre doing me a favor, Giving me your oppinion and shuddering when I say Jesus is not MY personal lord and savior?





My question being. Do Christians feel bad about the Genecide of Unchristians during the dark ages?

As a Christian of Irish ancestry, yes, I feel bad knowing that some of my ancestors probably killed or fought with some of my other ancestors about religion.





I love Jesus with all my heart, and still respect the beliefs of my forebearers, although the beliefs are not my own. There could have been such different, and so much better, ways for Paganism and Christianity to meet.

The bible say to have nothing to do with this world. There is only one true church. The churches that do the things that you have mentioned are not Gods Church.

There is only one true Church; it does not go out trying to convert people. The only way into Gods Church is if he calls you.





All those churches that did and do the things you mention are pagan churches, they just have them self converted to light to deceive the world. Only a few will fine the truth and it will be the ones God personally calls.





And until the 14400 that are called are seal the end will not come.

So try not to blame God’s Church in them wrong doings, it is the pagan Gods working in them Churches that cause the destructions and mutilations you are referring to in the dark ages and now.

Reply:Christians were killed by the Catholic Pope also. The Pope is just a man and the Pope%26#039;s god can be the devil. You blame this on Christians and it was a power, seeking man.





The Catholic Pope has stated that if you are not Catholic and in their church, you cannot be saved.





I have news for the Pope. If you do not know Jesus and if you are not born-again, you are not saved. The Holy Spirit within declares who we are in Christ. The Pope has nothing to do with Salvation.

As a Christian I feel bad about what the Catholic church and their Pope did during the dark ages and even during the Holocaust because innocent people were killed.





The God of Christianity is the First and the Last and the Only God. There were no other gods before Him and there will be no gods after Him. His Word has stood for thousands of years and all of His prophets have prophesied truth.

Your history is flawed. Only Noah knew about the Satyrs and the fallen angels before the flood. Only Noah knew why God destroyed the earth. As evil increases in this world with the new Wicca (witchcraft) movement and others, you will be living in the days before the flood of Noah once again. Satyrs or monsters will be created by man mixing genes. Satan will be worshiped because his fallen angels will be among us.

And to the LDS who said they have never engaged in such atrocities I suggest you look up the Mountain Meadow Massacre. Again, in the past. I am of Scottish pagan and Comanche descent bit I hold no grudges for what happened 100-500 years ago. The people involved are long dead. But it is something that people can learn from. Unfortunately, some people seem to think you can just change your religion as easily as you change your overcoat. These people will do anything and everything that they can to get what they want. In order to fulfil some of their dreams, they need the support of others. Human history has shown us that the most effective means to gain that support is through the manipulation of faith (religion). Countless atrocities have occurred in the name of countless gods and prophets. The crimes committed in the name of Christ in the Middle Ages are just one example of the corruption of faith.


Nobody in his/her right mind condones what happened during the Crusades or Inquisition. No one can condone the continued killing of innocents that is happening around the world to this very day - be it for faith or opposition to a political overlord (look at what%26#039;s happening in Tibet right now).


With that being said, do I need to ask the same question of everyone else ? If we go back through history, I%26#039;m sure we%26#039;ll find that every culture and religion is guilty of crime in the name of their god or nation. Modern Christians are not responsible for the crimes of long dead generations. Are today%26#039;s Americans guilty of the crimes their forefathers committed during the era of slavery ? Are the citizens of Berlin guilty for the atrocities of the Nazi regime 60-70 years ago ?


If you were inconveninced by some over-zealous members of a church, you have every right to be annoyed with them. Just please don%26#039;t paint everyone with the same brush.

As for you citation of the 10 commandments I think a better translation is Thou shall not murder. In a world that is full of evil behavior and people sometimes it is necessary to act violently.
Reply:You%26#039;ve confused yourself. Born-again christians didn%26#039;t do this. Why would we want to kill pagans when they would go to hell? We want them to get saved, not burn in hell. Anyways, the catholics were the ones who did this, not born-again christians. The catholic institution killed real christians because they wouldn%26#039;t recognize the pope as God%26#039;s representative. They believed that if they killed a witch, then instead of going to hell, they would go to purgatory. They thought they were doing them a favor. Jesus would never condone killing a witch. He wants them to repent and enjoy heaven with Him forever. Using old testament verses wont be any good, we are no longer under the law of Moses.





As for the people who tried to talk to you, they had good intentions, but they should%26#039;ve left you alone after you politely refused them. You only need to reject Christ once to go to hell. Asking you over and over again will only make you dig your heels in deeper. Good luck to you and may you accept Christ before its too late.
