How would an older person dress for hostessing a party for a younger lady getting married?

I%26#039;m 54, hostessing a combination birthday/getting married party for a 30 year old friend. It%26#039;s a pool party, but I won%26#039;t be swimming. I%26#039;ll be cooking, serving food %26amp; drink, taking photos, %26amp; cleaning up afterwards. I want to look nice, but not overdressed. So far, I%26#039;m thinking a black %26amp; white swirl patterned top that ties in back, with silver glitter accents, elbow length sleeves. Black pants, haven%26#039;t decided the length yet. Can%26#039;t decide on shoes. Any suggestions anyone?

the top sounds great, and for the black pants either capris, or full length would be fine. capris, because it%26#039;s a pool party, and full length because it%26#039;s more formal and elegant. nice sandals could work, but not beachy ones.
Reply:perhaps a very nice black skirt would look elegant but not overpowering to the bride to be. as she should get the attention.
Reply:How %26#039;bout this lil%26#039; number?
